Thank
you to the officers and committee of the club for giving me this opportunity at
their welcoming and friendly show. My entry was strong in terms of numbers and
quality. There was a high standard of presentation and handling and the
exhibits without exception all showed friendly and affectionate temperaments.
There was a lovely atmosphere ringside which added to the occasion.
Junior
1.
Thomas & Upton Bowdonia Seraphine JW
A pleasant bitch of appealing type nothing over done but everything in the
right place not the flashiest but very sound and active on the move good head
well placed ears and soft expression good neck into sloping shoulders has the
depth to please and she headed what was a strong class in terms of numbers and
quality.
2.
Ellis - Shannara Total Eclipse An eye catching male
with a cheeky disposition he is really starting to come together and the
handler just needs a little more faith in him not oversized but all male
balanced to the fore and rear and so well presented the best of silky straight
coats correct topline and moves well coming and
going.
3.
Barkley - Cherryheath’s Miss Velocity A quality bitch not
always getting it together on the stack, although when I wrote the critique she
relaxed and looked very classy I would prefer a touch less length of leg but
otherwise much to like good feet correct bone nice head and good pigmentation
moved around the ring with ease a pleasure to assess - I’ll be interested to
see how she progresses.
Post Graduate
1.
Caldwell - Bowdonia Bellissimo For Cerysan There is more to this bitch than initially
meets the eye, being hypercritical I would prefer a touch less length but
really scores in a lovely head coupled with a lovely easy temperament she is so
sound and good spring of ribs I particularly appreciated her size very true
coming and going if anything is still maturing but couldn’t be denied.
2.
Smith Isfryn Hocus Pocus JW Judged this bitch last
weekend and awarded her BOB and I can see why she is so feminine but
workmanlike and was the most well muscled exhibit by
some margin lovely straight coat so active on the move and is the definition of
‘merry’ has a cheeky outlook which I couldn’t resist could swop places with 1
at anytime she defines dual purpose.
3.
Thomas Bowdonia Anastasia JW This typy
bitch of good size she appealed to me good ribs lovely expression excels in
feet and bone lovely straight silky coat good on the move doesn’t always make
the most of herself but perhaps a little more confidence will do the trick
still plenty of time to mature.
Open
1.
Tully Ned Ch Bushwaker Gregory’s Girl at Highclare
This bitch is at her best on the move where she covers the ground with little
effort and great ease excels in spring of rib and depth of chest a nice size
and pleasing head and expression she could be criticised for a lack of coat but
on a day when I found several exhibits with excessive coat I was happy to be
sympathetic to this such an honest workmanlike bitch.
2.
Barkely Sh Ch Cherryheath’s Mr Mischief JW ShCM Judged this chap before and he is an extremely
worthy champion unexaggerated and very sound lovely masculine and appealing in
head with correct ear set and shape lovely strong bite and good length of neck
for me he is perhaps a touch heavy to the fore but his attributes well outweigh
this point.
3.
Thomas Bowdonia Sweet Dreams JW A veteran bitch not
really showing her true age but not quite as engaged as 1 & 2 good type
nice size would perhaps prefer a touch less bone but feminine in every other
way moves well and a correct rear angulation and very sound and active much to
like not in the best of coats today unfortunately.
